A reader from Texas reports:
In the 1970s, I saw many weird things at night as a policeman in a small town in the Hill Country of Texas… but mostly it was just wildlife.
One night, far away from town, I saw a light slowly descend from the sky. It kind of wobbled back and forth as it dropped. I drove to where I thought it had fallen.
Several hundred yards off the road, I saw a bright light sitting in a field, brighter than any street light or farm light. I knew there was no farm near there. The light pulsed, getting dimmer and then brighter at regular cycles. I don’t know how big it was, but it was big enough that I knew it was nothing I had ever seen before.
I can’t say for sure that it was alive, but seeing it descend as if with purpose, and then seeing it pulse, I knew I did not want to get anywhere near the thing. Maybe I should have investigated closer, but my instincts told me to stay away.
I drove off and only mentioned it to a few close friends before now.
